Happy Autumn

Happy first day of fall to y'all.   Now if the weather will just follow the calendar's lead we'll be experiencing some cooler days a head. Not ready for snow just some crisp fall air.

Here's my new favorite stamp again.  It's so fun giving the same stamp many looks using different colors, papers, borders and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thankful

This card was stamped using Taylored Expressions  You've Got Mail -fall stamp.  I just visited Taylored Expressions' website and see that there are a least 6 stamps, for various seasons and holidays, in the "You've Got Mail" series. They are all really fun.

I really enjoy fall and was immediately drawn to this stamp. I used water color paper for the stamping.  I colored the image with Zig Clean Brush Markers but didn't use water.  The image is small so not using water kept the colors vibrant and prevented bleeding.   I used distress inks for the background. I was really happy with how this card turned out.  It is so fun to see a blank piece of paper turn into something so unique.

This card went to person who has done a lot to help me.  I thank the Lord for the help she's provided to me over the past 10 years.

Brave Little Kate

This card was for created specially for our friends' little baby girl Kate. Brave little Kate was born with some heart problems and had open heart surgery when she was less than a week old.  She has gone through more medically in her less than 6 weeks of life than many do in a lifetime.  But, God has been faithful to protect her life.  He has given doctors wisdom to successfully treat her conditions and she is healing and growing.  Her parents and family are beyond grateful for God's hand on brave little Kate's life.  She is a precious gift!

Coloring

Here's another digital stamp that I used to practice using my Copics.  I followed a tutorial How to Color Water and Glass with Copics.  Overall I was pleased with how the vase and water turned out.  Just need to practice, practice, practice.  I was able to sell a couple of items on eBay this past week and will use the money to buy a few more Copic markers.

Staying busy with the little grands, visiting family and cooking.  I'm ready for a little cooler weather and fall decorating!

Breaking the Silence

I've been silent on my blog for the last year. Between moving to a new home and my parents moving from Oregon to Nebraska to live with us, posting hasn't been a priority. But, I decided to work on posting again so I can enjoy seeing the cards I create. It's such fun making someone's day with a handmade card.

I've been purchasing Copic markers and having such fun learning to use them.  Less than two years ago I did buy Spectrum Noir markers by Crafters Companion but found they are just not as nice as the Copics. However, they are a fraction of the cost so that makes sense; they are a good marker for the money.   I should have know to go with the "cat's meow" in the first place.  I'm not truly an artist so thought they would be okay and they were but I do have champagne taste even when my budget doesn't support it. Anyway, I kept pining after the Copics and my hubby pushed me to get started with my collection; what a guy.  Love you sweetheart!

Here's a digital stamp card that I colored.  I think she's a cutie pie.  I have such fun trying to find FREE digi-stamps on the internet.  There is something to be said however for a rubber stamp.  I think that the image lines are much crisper and make for a cleaner image. I am not good at remembering who made what products and what I actually used to make the card so that I can give credit to the right people.  I'll have to work on that.

I hope you enjoy hearing from me again!
